Happy Thanksgiving!

Pilgrims, Indians, the year before dire
This year was better, the crops growing higher

“Why waste the food,” some cried at the mention
“The winter is long before us,” they say, apprehension

The leader was firm, on his faith no one trod
“Because we are here, only by the grace of God!”

So celebrate they did, inviting the neighbors
Giving thanks for the bounty, resulting from their labors

Be thankful today, for all that surrounds
Your family, your friends, the comfort that abounds

They shared their meager stores, to thank him above
So spread the table with food, and drink, and love.
